The home is also on the old Calusa Indian's canal right behind the Calusa Indian mounds, there is a state park established in the last 15 years that has a fun walking trail, there are several plackards that explain the history of the people that lived here 500 years ago. The nature walk wanders for about a half mile 50 yards behind the home. When you walk around the grounds you will feel that you went back in time.
